If you have a classroom library and you periodically lend out books, you can try out this Excel spreadsheet. You can check out and return books. You can set the checkout time of the system.
If you have any questions, please contact me. Next on my TODO list, is to add the ability to do end-of-the-year inventory.
It is very convenient when combined with barcode scanner such as CueCats. You can search them on Google for more information and how to purchase them. I am not affiliated with them in any way.
