Stimulus Package a really bad idea

I don't always like to admit it to everyone, but I love doing my taxes. I love doing them so much, that I end up doing everyone else's taxes because for some reason, they don't love it as much as I do. But I was a little surprised when Tony, my fiance, told me that I will probably be getting a bigger refund than I had anticipated. And you know what, I say I don't need that refund because it is just plain ridiculous. As Tony put it in his letter to his congressman,

"The basic idea is to borrow money from China, give it to the people so that they buy stuff imported guess where from? China.

In the end, we are left with more deficit and cheap plastic crap. China has US dollars and treasury bonds.

I know you want to be re-elected but this is really dumb."

Why would we borrow money to be more in debt. How does a 150 billion dollar deficit help us out in any run? The poor already have their earned income credits and lower tax brackets and middle incomers like me do not need the extra money badly enough to destroy our economy. If anyone is reading this blog, please write your congressmen and tell them not to vote for this.

How is it that you are so logical? Not even all of the Republicans and Democrats who voted in favor of buying our votes for a poultry $500.00 has your sort of logic. All they ever wanted in return for the money was our vote, and our grandchildren get to pay it back.

Dumb is right. But they want us to be perpetually in debt just like countries far in the past. The elite will have everything and the rest of us are serfs forever paying off debt. Very depressing.

I understand why you feel the way you do. However, before you stand so solidly on your view, study economics and how our economy works. It is far more complicated than the simplistic view put forth here.

We have tried the trickle down theory with great failure. Give a new plan a chance. These men who are making these plans are much more intelligent than you are giving them credit for. If people don't spend money there are more cut backs in jobs and production of products and services. Less taxes are paid and the downward spiral goes on. This is of course too simplistic also - but hopefully gives you another view.

How is it that people who do not understand economics and do not seem to understand why or how we ended up in this mess are all against the only plan that has any possibility of getting us out of it.

Before you voice a strong opinion on something you should do enough study on the topic to at least form an educated opinion. It is things like this that get people all worked up over things when they don't need to be.

I have studied economics and the world economy. This plan is the best we have right now - or we could let it all take the course and end up in another great depression. Hopefully we learn from history and don't just repeat it.

If you want to be angry - be angry with the greed that got us in this whole mess. Not at a President and others who really do want to have things be better.

Some of the comments to this blog are really pissing me off. First of all, have the balls to leave your name, so I can write you back, pussies. Secondly, if you are too stupid to read the date of this blog, don't tell me how much you know or how intelligent you are. This is in response to the stimulus package in 08 when Bush was in office, so why are you idiots writing about our new president. This is why I feel sorry for our country....Too stupid to read what you are responding to, shame on you!
